Element Salvage

Design With What Already Exists

AI can be amazing, but it can also be awful.

It's like when you think of plastics in the ocean. Your mind fills with sea creatures being strangled or like my what my mom always reminds me of, too, "Jody, did you ever see that turtle with a straw stuck up its nose?" Unnatural objects taking up space and causing damage where they are not supposed to be. AI is kind of like that. When I think of AI I think of lakes being sucked dry (or poisoned), no more fish, and people losing jobs. It's unbalanced, it's creating so many things, but also at the same time, taking so many more things away. Lately, it's been leaving me with a lot of worry on where our World is headed. Planet Earth is very important, and having enough clean water is also very important, too. Plus, add in higher electric costs and that shiny newness of AI starts to dull a little bit. And please don't even let me begin a conversation about AI and political donors and the ill effects of their power-hungry greed on society, on families, because none of us will go untouched by the autonomous war robots they are wanting to create next...

So that is why I have created this fun site you are now scrolling.

Element Salvage is an online library created to give AI images and design elements a second life. I collect donations of previously created graphics, both human-made and AI-generated, and make them available to those who want ethical, affordable, ready-to-use design resources. That is the concept behind "Choose to Reuse."

The fact of the matter is...

Nobody knows exactly for sure (which is part of the problem), but current research estimates that one AI image likely uses about a sip to a shot glass of water, not gallons, but the real impact comes from scale. Right now, the best estimates suggest around 34 million AI images are generated every day worldwide. With water already being a scarce resource in some areas, that is a problem.

With Data Centers trying to be built so quickly in communities, and communities saying, "Hold your horses, not so fast, what will the environmental impacts be to our residents?" That's when the big money comes in. These big money companies promise better environmental solutions in the near future. They have so much money to make their advertising almost convincing with their promise of jobs for the residents, but at what cost? Even they don't have the immediate solution for cooling their massive data centers without the use of fresh water (or a way to quickly implement a solution). AI Data Centers don’t just consume water; their cooling systems can also discharge chemically contaminated water if not properly managed. Until there are solutions, and safeguards, our best bet is to do our very best to not generate any more images. I know that's hard to do because it's fun and it saves time, but in the end it's not worth the cost of what we're losing or risking. Element Salvage's Library won't stop all AI image generation, but it can definitely minimize the impact until every Data Center never uses fresh water and any water returned to the environment has no pollutants in it (and with a five-star stamp, whatever you've got to do, believable guarantee).

The key to this is...

Everything in our archive already exists. By reusing these elements instead of generating new ones, we help reduce digital waste, save water and energy, and lessen the environmental impact of constant image generation. It's a simple, meaningful way to protect the planet.

AI is moving at the speed of lightening, so don't hesitate, get your Element Salvage Lifetime Membership, donate your previously generated AI images to the library, and start making a real difference today.

Join the movement of more creating and less generating!

What Does a Membership Include?

A lifetime membership to Element Salvage gives you full access to my entire library of designs that are ready to be repurposed and reused. One simple payment supports a more sustainable creative world while giving you unlimited resources to work with.

Members receive:

  • Unlimited downloads of all existing and future designs (the element library will start out small but will continue to grow each day so check back daily to see fresh designs)

  • A way to reduce environmental impact by reusing what already exists

  • Affordable Lifetime access with one payment, with no recurring fees or hidden cost

Joining Element Salvage means you're not just getting awesome design elements, you're helping shift the creative world toward something more ethical, accessible, and environmentally responsible.

So Many
Design Elements to Choose From.

And so many more to add to the library. Please be patient with me as I design during the day (my day job) and add new graphics at night. This journey is something I am so passionate about and I am so grateful that you are joining me on this adventure of taking action to go up against the robots and save this planet for all of those whom we love.

Don't forget to

everyone you can. "A Lifetime Membership is a good plan, Stan"

That was my grandpa's name, Stan... electric blue eyes and never a stranger that he ever met. He could talk for hours telling stories and I don't think he would have liked AI, but I think he would've been proud of me for trying to pull the reins back on it to stop it from being a runaway horse (read more of that story here).

AND don't forget to

Check out my store

and join the Creative Reuse Revolution by wearing and sharing this new-era concept so that more people will quickly understand how important it is to recycle AI designs and to share them with other artists and hobbyists and to lessen the massive number of generations and regenerations that happen each day.

Learn to combine the reused Designs (2).png

ALSO join me on Sunday afternoons...

for Canva Classes where I show you how to use the images from the Element Salvage Library with the Canva platform.

Register for a Canva Class and you'll learn how to use designs that already exist and also how to give them a new twist. Just like "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade" well "When AI gives you five hands and pupilless eyes, learn how to correct that with someone who has an eye for these kinda things." lol

Please note: If you purchase an Element Salvage Lifetime Membership your first class is free!

THANK YOU for becoming a part of the shift toward reusable, and sustainable creativity.
